London museums have free admission so you can't go wrong spending the day here or dipping in and out during your trip to see certain pieces of art. Check out the Tate Modern, Tate Britain, the Science Museum, British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and National Gallery to name a few.
The Shard Restaurants
Forget paying to go to the viewing platform on top of the Shard, London's tallest building - see London from the comfort of your own table in one of the amazing Shard restaurants. Each of the restaurants are high-end so save it for a special night out or alternatively, have a cocktail in the lounge and enjoy the spectacular views. (Although best to have a table reservation to avoid standing in line.)
Rent a boat on the Thames
If you're lucky enough to get a warm and sunny forecast, take advantage and rent a little Thames boat to do an atypical pub crawl along the river. Each pub has boat slips, hearty lunches and welcome business in from the river - even the captain can share in the festivities.
We recommend Tagg's Boatyard in Thames Ditton
Monument to the Great Fire of London
Built in 1677 to commemorate the Great Fire of London, a 3-day long gutting of the medieval City of London, the tower is 61 metres tall, the exact distance it stands from the site of the fire's origin in Pudding Lane. Climb 311 steps up a winding staircase to the viewing platform for an extraordinary view of London's skyline.
